Terms of Service

Sign in with Apple is the only way to create an account, and an account is required to publish or sync anything. You are responsible for the device your session lives on. If you lose access to your Apple ID you lose access to the account; we cannot recover it for you.

You must be 13 or older to use Yesterday.

You keep every right you have in your photos. Publishing a recap grants us a narrow, revocable licence to store and serve those specific images for the sole purpose of showing the recap page to people who have the link. That licence ends when you unpublish the recap or delete your account, and we delete the files.

We do not use your photos to train models, we do not show them to anyone who does not have the link, and we do not reuse them in marketing.

• Photos of other people who have not agreed to be published.
• Sexual content involving minors, or any other content that is illegal where you or we operate.
• Content you do not have the rights to share.
• Anything intended to harass, threaten, impersonate or defraud someone.

We may unpublish a recap or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Reports go to our takedown process.

A published recap is reachable by anyone who has its link. The identifier is random and the page is not indexed by search engines, but a link that has been forwarded cannot be un-forwarded. Unpublish removes the page and the stored images; it cannot remove copies somebody already saved.

Yesterday is early software. Features change, links can break during a deployment, and we do not promise any level of uptime. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Your photos live on your phone and in your own backups. Yesterday is not a backup service, and we are not liable for photo loss.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to Yesterday is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

You can delete your account at any time from the app or from your account page; deletion unpublishes your recaps immediately and purges the data within 30 days. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop operating the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data first.

We will post material changes to these terms here with a new date, and tell you in the app before they take effect. The governing law and venue clause is still to be settled and will be filled in before launch.
